Terms of use
Version 2026-10-17, effective 17 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Urmila Books for using this digital library. Please read them with our Privacy notice. By creating an account you agree to both.
About us and these terms
The library is run by Urmila Books, Krishna, 8 New Market, Begum Bridge, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, PIN 250001. In these terms "we" and "us" mean Urmila Books, and "you" means the person using the library. This is version 2026-10-17, effective 17 October 2026.
Who may use the library
Anyone aged 18 or older can create an account. You must be 18 or older, and you confirm that you are when you create your account. The library is made for parents, teachers and guardians, who may read with the children in their care.
Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- The account is for you alone. Do not share your sign-in, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- You may delete your account at any time.
Borrowing and reading
Borrowing a book gives you the right to read it in our reader for the loan period, on your plan's terms. On the Free plan you can borrow up to three books a month, each for 30 days. Your allowance renews on the first day of each month; returning a book early does not give a borrow back.
A loan lets you read the book in the library. It does not let you keep a copy. When a loan ends or you return the book, you can no longer open it, though your highlights and notes stay with your account.
We may change plans and allowances. If a change affects what you have, we will tell you first.
What you may not do
- copy, download, share or republish the books or the library's content, except where the reader lets you copy a short selection and the book's rights allow it;
- use software to collect books or other content in bulk, or to get around the library's protections or limits;
- use the library for anything unlawful, or to harass or harm others;
- interfere with how the library works or try to get into parts of it you are not meant to use;
- put unlawful or abusive material in notes, messages or submissions.
If you break these rules we may limit or end your access.
Books, rights and your notes
The books belong to their authors and publishers, or are in the public domain, and are made available to you under the rights we have for each. The library's design, name and logo belong to Urmila Books.
Your highlights and notes are yours. You allow us to store them for you so that the reader can show them to you, and for nothing else.
Publish with Us
When you tell us about a book through Publish with Us, you confirm that what you say is true and that you hold, or are entitled to offer, the rights you describe. Sending a submission is not an offer to publish: we have no duty to reply or to publish, and you have no duty to us. We handle what you send as our Privacy notice says. Please do not send a full manuscript through the form.
Paid plans
A paid plan is planned. Before we charge anyone for anything we will publish its price and terms, and you will choose whether to take it.
Availability and changes to the library
We work to keep the library available but cannot promise it will always be, or that every title will always be offered. A publisher may withdraw a book; if that happens we may end its loans. We may change or stop parts of the library, and we will tell you about changes that matter.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or that puts the library or others at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as the limits on liability) continue after your account ends.
Our responsibility
The library is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss that we could not reasonably have foreseen, for interruptions beyond our control, or for the content of the books themselves. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have by law that cannot be limited, or our liability for anything the law does not let us exclude.
Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh have jurisdiction over any dispute about them, subject to any right you have by law to go elsewhere.
Questions and complaints
Write to [email protected] with questions. Complaints go to our Grievance Officer at [email protected]; the Privacy notice says how we deal with them.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will publish the new version, tell you, and ask you to agree again before you carry on.
